Now that we have begun to understand the plans of the Lord our God, we can begin to understand that which the Lord says in Jeremiah 29:10-14.
For thus says the Lord: When seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you shall call upon Me, and you shall come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek Me and find Me, when you shall search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will turn away your captivity and gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back into the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive. M410
It is in Jeremiah where we see that Jesus drove His people to all nations so that the grafting in of the Gentiles can take place as this is what He spoke about earlier in Jeremiah 29:4-7.
Thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, to all who have been carried away captive whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon: Build houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat their fruit. Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters; so that you may increase there and not diminish. Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace. M411
The people of Israel have been carried away to all nations, and those that have been taken as captive have been given permission to have wives among their captives. To build houses, plant gardens and eat the fruit of their land. To have sons and daughters, and for their daughters to have husbands from the captives, so they too can have sons and daughters and the family tree with each branch can grow even bigger.
This is why Paul in Romans 11:17-18 said:
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among them and became a partaker with them of the root and richness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. If you boast, remember you do not sustain the root, but the root sustains you. M412
Some of the Gentiles have been grafted through God’s plan of captivity, and some have come through faith for as it says in 2 Peter 3:9.
The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness. But He is patient with us, because He does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance. M413
Repentance opens the heart for us to receiving forgiveness and blessing. It is through faith that we stand as soldiers enduring, suffering for our faith.
Do not forget these words in 2 Timothy 2:1-7.
So you, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Share the things that you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses with faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Endure hard times as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No soldier on active duty entangles himself with civilian affairs, that he may please the enlisting officer. Anyone who competes as an athlete is not rewarded without competing legally. The farmer who labors should be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I am saying, and may the Lord grant you understanding in all things. M414
May the Lord grant us understanding in all things especially that of the laws, so we as athletes can compete legally, the first being the rule and the law of faith which is given to all. Ensure that we each know the laws to which we are individually bound. So that our reward will not be lost because we did not follow all the laws that pertain to us and enter the race legally.
We are cautioned in Job 36:12.
But if they do not obey, they will perish by the sword, and they will die without knowledge. M415
And in Hebrews 4:12 it tells us, that the word of God is alive, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart. M416
In Hosea 4:6 we are reminded about how important knowledge about the word is, and the knowledge of the law.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from being My priest.
And because you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children. M417
Let us not forget the law of faith or the laws that may apply to each one of us, for as the house of Israel was let captive to many nations, Jesus was sent to bring them back. For He said in Matthew 15:24, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” M418
Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, to bring salvation to the Gentiles, because they hear and believe in faith. For this is what it says in Acts 28:28
“Therefore, let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles. They will hear it!” M419
For let us hear what the Lord says in Isaiah 56:1-8
Thus says the Lord:
Preserve justice and do righteousness, for My salvation is about to come and My righteousness to be revealed.
Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who takes hold of it, who keeps from polluting the Sabbath and keeps his hand from doing any evil.
Do not let the son of the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord speak, saying, “The Lord has utterly separated me from His people”; do not let the eunuch say, “I am only a dry tree.”
For thus says the Lord:
To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose the things that please Me, and take hold of My covenant, to them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial, and a name better than that of sons and of daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.
Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the Lord to serve Him, and to love the name of the Lord, and to be His servants, to everyone who keeps from polluting the Sabbath and takes hold of My covenant, even them I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.
The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel says, Yet I will gather others to them besides those who already are gathered to him. M420
For the Lord God will not only gather the outcasts and the Gentiles those who have forgotten their roots over the centuries, along with those of Israel, but He will gather the other Gentiles to them.
Does it not say in Romans 11:25-27; for I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, lest you be wise in your own estimation, for a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will remove ungodliness from Jacob”; “for this is My covenant with them, when I shall take away their sins.” M421
For the Messiah, Jesus Christ will come and remove the ungodliness from Jacob, so that with the house of Israel, the house of Judah and all Israel will be saved.
The fullness of Gentiles comes from the knowledge of knowing that we are His sheep. We maybe the lost sheep for which Jesus came, or are the other sheep that listen to His voice.
For Jesus said in Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.M422
The reason why the gospel of the kingdom needs to be preached to all nations and throughout the world is for salvation. So that the sheep can be separated from the goats.
In John 10:7-15 Jesus says.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.M423
Jesus has laid down His life for the following sheep:
- Sheep that are not lost that make up the house of Judah
- Sheep that lost that make up the house of Israel
- Other sheep, the Gentiles of faith
Jesus has other sheep that are not of the fold of Israel. The fold of Israel are the sheep from the house of Judah and the house of Israel. The other sheep are those that are from outside these two houses.
We find this spoken about by Jesus in John 10:16-18.
And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. For this reason, the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.” M424
For all that do not believe are like goats and all that believe are His sheep, this why in John 10:15-30 Jesus said.
“I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” M425
